So Edward James Olmos is playing the Lorne Greene Commander Adama role in the remake of Battlestar Galactica. I don’t know if you’ve seen it yet the first 2 seasons are on DVD. I just started watching some of them and I was surprised to find that it has been pretty good as a military/sci-fi drama co-produced by the Sci-Fi Channel of all things.
I heard that it was vastly superior to the original, but I haven’t seen it. I’m not big on the space operas. I’ve never seen an episode of Star Trek, but my wife could go on for hours about Babylon 5, you should probably talk to her.
Yeah B5 (to those in the know) was a pretty good space opera because it had like a plan by the creator and he seemed to follow it and actually wrote most of the episodes. Unlike other sci-fi dramas that tend to meander and go on longer than is needed to tell the story. I think the “sci-fi” makes for good spectacle to be sure but ultimately the stories are good ones and in the case of BSG (again in the know) at times the stories are quite outside the realms of sci-fi other than the incidental ray gun or space ship.
Who is Todd Alcott?
Todd Alcott is a screenwriter living in Santa Monica with his wife and kids and cats. He has written many screenplays. Some have been made into feature films. You may have seen one.
