Bentfootes update

The first screening of The Bentfootes here in NYC was a howling success — there was a great turnout and the movie got huge laughs.  Mr. James

‘s performance managed to get a response big enough to drown out some of the dialog.

There is one more screening tonight at 8:30 and if you happen to be in NYC, the Walter Reade Theater in Lincoln Center will be the place to be.

Regular blogging, including a massive, multi-part analysis of No Country For Old Men, will resume soon.  I thank you for your patience.

    The Bentfootes

I was at “The Bentfootes” screening at Walter Reed and would have loved to buy a stack of DVD’s of it for my old dance buddies. What a howl! It was satiric, unique; the cast was wonderful. Is it going to be released in a regular theatrical run? I think it should be, with the short where the guy defies gravity.

      Glad you liked it!

A theatrical run is doubtful but not impossible, but a DVD release is an eventual inevitability.

I expect I won’t get to see this until it shows up on Netflix, but I’m glad to hear it’s going over well with audiences.

The IMDb entry for The Bentfootes is being administered as we speak.

Yay. Now thats service 🙂 lol

I’ve just been reading about the Coens new one Burn After Reading . Talk about one extreme to the other, lol. Clooney, Pitt, Malkovich, and McDormand in a spy romp comedy.

      Cant wait!

The Coens have always alternated between comedy and noir, being careful not to repeat themselves. The only exception has been The Ladykillers following Intolerable Cruelty — and that happened only because another, more serious, project fell through.
